While the next Angel Ace issue is still quite a ways off since we're giving Angel time off, our favorite femme fatale assassin is finally getting more much-deserved exposure. Despite (or is it because of) events in Angel Ace Next, Kai Mishima will be getting her own book entitled K.I.A! The title will be our biggest project yet- an anthology that mixes elements from Aeon Flux, Danger Girl, Elektra, Le Femme Nikita, Kill Bill and ALIAS, with liberal helpings of fan service. Yep, it's going to be FUN. Even better, we're bringing together some of the best names in local comics to contribute art and even pages for this hot title. Look for K.I.A. to burn up the comic shelves by mid-2004. Later! -MAD

ANGEL ACE NEXT this DECEMBER! Watch out for the latest and BIGGEST Angel Ace issue ever, clocking in at 80 pages. We'll be revealing some startling events after the end of Angel Ace Again, as well as have a look at the behind-the-scenes villains of AA, the Gallowglass Mass Industries corporation. Angel Ace Next features three stories drawn by some extremely talented guest artists. THE CODE features regular AA contributor Jon Mallari, telling a flashback story of Angel and Kai when they were both SIVA cadets in training. THE GIFT is drawn by Jeremy Arambulo, a US-based indie comic artist. This comedic tale shows Mike and Rip trying to find a gift for their favorite house guest. Features the return of a long-awaited character to the series! and finally, MALL WRATH is drawn by Homanga's Honoel Ibardolaza. A remake of the Night Flight story that appeared in the original Angel Ace#2, this story is about Angel's 'sleepflying' habit which has an unfortunate effect of landing her in some uncomfortable situations- namely a criminal-infested strip mall! Angel Ace Next will also feature fan art, pinups, character art and more! Watch out for Angel Ace Next. COMING THIS DECEMBER! Later! ^_^

HELLO! Well, we did say we would try to fix the funding problem, did we? Well... We DID! Haha! Barring any HUGE money expenditures, the Next Angel Ace issue (entitled Angel Ace Next... hehe) is a go! Now all that is left is to bring together the finished pages, lay it all out, fashion a cover and back cover and then find a good printing house. We're pulling out all the stops for this one; we want it to come out perfect! Anyway, NEXT will directly tie in with the end of the Angel Ace Again story arc, and pretty much tie up the loose ends we left hanging (DId we?). Also, there will be two cool and action-packed backup stories, featuring the artistic talents of Jon Mallari (who's been with us since the first issue of Again) and 'fake' manga artist/writer extraordinaire, Honoel Ibardolaza! Honoel (or HAI) has collaborated with me on some recent projects for Psicom; Game Girl for Hainaku 3 and Beach Blossoms for the upcoming Cherry Blossom High manga anthology. He's one of the best local comic artists I know, and easily the best one I know and HAVE NOT MET IN PERSON. Heh. We're shooting for a release of Angel Ace NEXT in time for the upcoming C3Con this December. WAIT FOR IT! And finally, we may be seeing a new look to the site, as we try to update everything in line with the new issue and other stuff. WHEW! Lotsa stuff. We're still alive and kicking, aren't we? WOOHOO! Later! ^_^

Hello! Good news and bad news. The bad news first. Still not finished with the next Angel Ace issue. Pencils are done, but we are holding back on the inks and production until we fix the problem of funding. Steps to pay for Angel Ace Next's printing are being taken, rest assured. We still hope to come out with an issue within the year. As for the Good News, HAINAKU #3 is now OUT! This local manga collection zine from PSICOM features a lot of my stuff, including my new creation GAME GIRL, which is drawn by Homanga.com's incomparable Honoel Ibardolaza. Also in Hainaku is KC STRANGE, from the mind of Kestrelstudios' Nikki Alfar, and from the pencils, inks and PC of Yours Truly. And finally, there's a TEXTMEN episode courtesy of Nikki, creator Jason Banico and artist Armand Roy Canlas (Armor Troopers). HAINAKU #3 is now available at Comic Quest branches, National Bookstore and various magazine stands/shops for Php 75.00. Get your copy NOW! Aside from that, I am also doing various other manga projects, both online and printed. Stay tuned for more news by logging onto my blogs at www.angelace.com/blog (Stark Raving MAD) and gregorthewolf.blogspot.com (Lone Wolf and Cherub). That's that for now. LATER! -Marc D.

I'm one year older and a bit wiser. And we're still working on the next Angel Ace issue. In the meantime though, you can check out my other comic stuff that's coming out very soon. Nikki Alfar's K.C. Strange and my own new creation, GAME GIRL, will be appearing in the third issue of HAINAKU!, from Psicom Publishing. It should be out in magazine stands, comic book shops and bookstores this coming July... just look out for the cover by Yours Truly! We'll be coming out in another Manga Anthology thing soon as well. As for Angel Ace NEXT, we're still working on getting it out within the year. Suffice to say we're working on making it really worth the long wait. Heh. Keep tuning into my manga creator blog at LONE WOLF AND CHERUB (gregorthewolf.blogspot.com) for up-to-date entries on my stuff and other funny tidbits. Later then! -MARC D.

Hello! Some updates! Anyone wanting to monitor the progress of the latest Angel Ace issue need only visit my new blog at gregorthewolf.blogspot.com. It's entitled LONE WOLF AND CHERUB, and it will specifically contain developments in my work as a manga artist/creator and independent comic producer. Included will be progress reports on the current Angel Ace issue, new comic projects and indie comics news, creative discussions with my friends in the Questventures and Alamat Comic Groups, new storylines and ideas that come into my mind and more stuff. Check it out! Of course, putting up LWAC meant we had to replace Straight From the Angel's Mouth; anyway, Angel decided she was really just 'too nice' to be a serious anime reviewer, and she's pretty busy these days with the comics. Rest assured, she'll be popping in from time to time at LONE WOLF, and maybe even Rip or Kai too. Heh. Anyway, the current Angel Ace ish has finally entered the INKING stage. The issue currently stands at 64 pages. This is going to be a stand-alone issue, so we're working to make it great. That's that for now. LATER! Marc D.

Hello! Some good news and more good news! First, we've finally firmed up the content of the next Angel Ace issue. Sad to say, the large anthology we were planning has been pushed back, but the issue that's coming is worth it. The one-shot story happens right after the end of the Again story arc; Angel has decided to stay in Newhaven for a while with Mike and Rip. Unfortunately, a certain masked madman has returned, seeking vengeance. Yep, it's The Sorcerer (So SOON?!), and when he learns that Angel is still alive, he ups the ante and comes back with quite a few new and deadly toys to even the odds... Pencils are almost done at the time of this writing, and soon inking will be carried out. We are planning to release this within the next few months. Wait for it! Next, Angel has a BLOG! Yep, if you want to see Angel rant and rave about anime, all you need do is go visit her web log at http://angelace.blogspot.com! That's that! Till next time! -MARC D.

Hello! Sorry I haven't been able to update. That's the trouble when you don't know crap about web maintenance. Oh well. Anyway, the latest Angel Ace news! The next Angel Ace issue, entitled ANGEL ACE NEXT, will be an anthology of various stories about each of the characters. Contributing art and writing chores will be several talented people I have the pleasure of knowing; Arnold Arre (Trip to Tagaytay), Dean and Nikki Alfar (The Lost, Textmen), Vinnie Simbulan(ISAW At Iba Pa), Carlo Vergara (Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah), Jason Banico (Baylans, Textmen), Tony Bucu (P-Noise) and more. Aside from these, the issue will reveal what happened after the fateful night at the Circus in Angel Ace Again, and segue into the next major story. There will also be tons of art and character designs and in-depth info on the Angel Ace world. Yep, it's not only an anthology but The Official Angel Ace Guide/Sourcebook. We're shooting for a release within the year. Keep your fingers crossed! Anyway, for the latest news on Angel Ace developments and news on my life, you can visit my blogs at www.angelace.com/blog (Stark Raving MAD) and madaboutanime.blogspot.com (MADabout Anime). Hello! It's been a long time since I posted here. Wow. Anyway, let's update for the people who actually come here to our homepage. The year's almost at an end, and sadly, we weren't able to make good on our promise to try and release an issue this year. Anyway, we will try again in the coming year! Never say die! A lot of other manga-style comics came out, like Armor Troopers, CHIPs and stuff... we can't stay quiet forever! Whatever happens, we'll come out with a new Angel Ace issue next year, before July 2003! Anyway, watch out for the upcoming Philippine Manga and Comics Convention on December 21 and 22. I'll be there to talk about 'Making your own Manga'. Also, there will be some Angel Ace stuff in the ashcan that will be released during the convention. Hope it all turns out well so we can at least end the year with Angel appearing in at least one published work. That's it! The next time we post here will probably be in 2003. Anyone who wants to have regular updates on my life is invited to reading my blog, Stark Raving MAD at www.angelace.com/blog. Funny stuff about games, movies, commuting, impulse buying watching cable and more are there everyday. And of course, our forum boards are updated with anime, manga and gaming info, as well as our DOAX Obsession board. That's it. Till next time! Marc D.

I've finally gone and said it. This website will be crucial to the future of Angel Ace because in the near future; someday... not today, not tomorrow... but someday, Angel Ace will become a webcomic. It wasn't an easy decision because I love printed comics and the feel of having a comic in my hands. But given the fact that publishing comics in the Philippines is so expensive and hard to maintain from issue to issue, this move was inevitable. So what does this mean? It means full-color Angel Ace pages updated every week/month! It means that Angel's adventures can be seen from everywhere there's a net cafe or Internet-ready PC. It means the series can continue and has a chance of seeing its eventual ending (which is still a loooong way off). This won't happen right away, of course. Another printed Angel Ace issue will come and go before this happens. When it does, Angel will be ready for the world! On other news, I've started work on Immacolata: The Fury of Hinirang. This is an action adventure set in a fantasy-Philippines setting and stars a character created by Dean Alfar from the pages of Kestrelstudios' The Lost. Imma is yet another strong female heroine I've fallen in love with, so I hope to have fun with bringing her adventures to readers as I have done with Angel. Stay tuned for when and where Imma will hit, later this year. That's that then. Later!

Hello! It's been quite some time since our last update, and a lot of things have happened. Anyway, aside from the tons of content we've been posting on the Anime Ace boards (including a whole new separate section for our fave upcoming game DOAX), we have to mention that our good friend and comics colleague Arnold Arre has just released another graphic opus. After Eden is a 254-page fully illustrated drama/comedy/fantasy written and drawn by Mr. Arre himself. The book is a masterpiece of complex relationships and pop culture references; a very mature and refreshing work. The book is published and released by Anino Publishin and Adarna Publications. Get your copy now at the Manila Book Fair at the Megatrade Hall at SM Megamall! (Copies will be distributed widely soon after) On other recent comic news, ISAW At Iba Pa has been awarded Best Comic Book of 2001 in the National Book Awards! Congratulations to the whole Isaw gang are in order, including Mike Simbulan, Arnold Arre, Carlo Vergara, Dean and Nikki Alfar and other collaborators... including myself, of course! As for Angel Ace news, we are still working on the next issue, but we have big changes and developments which will affect how we bring Angel's adventures to people in the very near future. An announcement will be forthcoming soon as we firm up our plans. That's about it for now. Till next time! -Marc D.

Hello! Primary pencilling for Angel Ace Next is proceeding at a leisurely pace. Thanks to some changes in my life, we may be seeing the new issue before the year ends. As before, the next issue of Angel Ace will continue the story where we left off, right after the circus battle. I'm still studying the prospects of inviting guest artists and perhaps getting someone to do inks... though for the most part I will probably be doing the majority of the issue myself. That's that for now. Till next time! -Marc D.

Hello! I am still working on Angel Ace Next, as well as trying to get more stores to sell the books we already have released. Makati residents don't have to go all the way to Comic Quest Megamall for their Angel Ace issues... The whole Angel Ace Again! series and even Lone Wolf and Cherub special is available at FEATA Bookstore at Makati Cinema Square. Buy one. Buy the whole set for a friend! We're working on getting the comics out to more stores, hopefully soon along Katipunan and in Greenhills. And one last thing, I'll be at the NU107 Summer Shebang with other Alamat artists to sell comics, sketch a bit and maybe sign some copies. It'll be this coming Saturday, April 27, and I'll be there from mid-afternoon to early evening (about 3-7PM or so). That's that for now. Later! Marc D.

Angel Ace Next! After the Circus Battle debacle, Angel is presumed dead... that means she's free to go anywhere she wants... or to stay anywhere she wants. A new life beckons for her in Newhaven, but will memories of her troubled past prevent Angel from ever calling any place home again? Meanwhile, we get a look at the insidious masters of the deadly SIVA... the GMI Megacorporation. This new chapter in the Angel Ace series is still in development, but we are committed to try and release within the first half of 2002. Another issue will follow in the later half of the year. That's that. Anyway, on other komiks news, a new local comic entitled "God Machine X" (Deus Ex Machina) is set to be released this March by a group called the Antagonists. We're looking forward to that, and other local reads with great anticipation. Later then! -Marc D.

Basically the next issue, which will be a stand-alone story, will take up what happens after the entire Again! debacle... will Angel stay in Newhaven with Mike? What new characters will be making their AA debut/return? What happened to Kai? All these questions and more will be answered... hopefully... Stay tuned for developments! Anyway, it's a new year, and the possibilities are endless! Later! -Marc D.

Angel Ace Again!#4 Status... ALL PAGES DONE! As of this moment, Issue 4 is on the print production stage. All the art is finished, so it's now all a matter of preparing it for the printers, printing, and all the stuff that's out of our hands. I am quite confident that we will make it to our projected November release. We've made it to the top of the hill! Now it's keeping steady so we don't stumble the way down... We're keeping our fingers crossed now.

Angel Ace Again!#4 Status... All guest artist pages have now been submitted, and they are looking GREAT! To be featured in issue 4 will be pages by Jon Mallari, an up-and-coming young manga artist who's contributed to every Again! issue; Carlo Vergara of One Night in Purgatory and Arnold Arre, who did The Mythology Class and Trip to Tagaytay. The art styles are so varied and different, but all are united by their quality. I am so honored to have them grace Angel Ace. As for me, I am doing final touches on the story, and we should be submitting the final print for issue 4 to the printers within the next two weeks. Again, we are shooting for releasing issue 4 this November.

Rip's posted some thoughts on the Blood anime, and the Throne of Darkness PC game at the Ask Angel! forum. The Ripper loves to rip into his reviews, doesn't he?

Note on Angel Ace: Again!#4: While we have a synopsis and a cover image up in the Releases section, the issue is not yet available. We are planning a release within 2001. As always, anyone sending a mail to shinangelace@hotmail will be notified via e-mail of release dates. A firm release schedule will also be posted here. Also, corrections on issue information: Angel Ace: Again!#4 will have 64 pages, not 40. BIG climactic issue!

Welcome to the New Angel Ace website! Lots of stuff inside for you to see and read, plus you can even ask the characters themselves questions that have been bugging you ("How do you keep your hair so nice even when you're flying?"). Also up are 'lost' pages that have never seen print. Want some scantily-clad babe action? Download the Dead or Alive manga! It's all here in Angel's new landing pad! I would like to thank Cynthia Bauzon and Arnold Arre of Tala Studios for this absolutely great website. Please browse around and enjoy all the stuff. And keep tuned here on the news page for releases on Angel Ace books, Kestrelstudios, Questventures and Alamat titles. Also, expect a few rants and random writings to appear from time to time. Okay! Enjoy the visit! -MAD
